Self Reflection

You know how the saying goes: what goes around comes around. From a victim’s standpoint, when you see it come to fruition, it can bring on a sense of satisfaction and a sense of vindication. The interesting thing is it can be something that was literally years in the making. Something from years past that was possibly buried so far down or forgotten that it was no longer in your memory file. Until, out of the blue, it unexpectedly becomes dredged up, and you’re reminded of it.

You could be on the opposite side of it and the source of the pain. It comes to the surface, and you’re once again in the range of emotions that were felt then and ruminating on the consequences that you were dealt with because of your actions. It’s happening all over again in the present day.

Whatever side you find yourself on, it can bring on a sense of self-reflection. For me personally, it makes me reflect on myself and how I live my life and interact with people. Is there anything in my past that was wrongly done to me that will cause someone to reach out? Are there any wrongs that I have in my past that could come back to the surface? Will forgiveness or redemption be asked of me, or will I be the one doing the asking?

The Golden Rule Luke 6:31(NIV)

“Do to others as you would have others do to you.”
